So, You Want to Start a Nonprofit:
This seminar is appropriate
for nonprofit organizations that have just started or those
that are thinking about incorporating. In addition to the
visionary ideals and good intentions of most nonprofit
organizations, the presenters will discuss the realities of
starting a nonprofit, such as what qualifies an organization
for tax exemption, legal and regulatory compliance, the
competition in the marketplace, for both services and funds,
among other issues. Presenters will also discuss alternative
possibilities, such as mergers and/or collaborations with
other nonprofits.

This seminar will examine the relationship between Board of
Directors and Staff, how to manage relationships with all
key stakeholders, how to create alignment within your
organization that increases productivity, roles and
responsibilities of Board and Staff and how to increase
management effectiveness.

Basics of Financial Management for Nonprofits:
This seminar is appropriate for those organizations that
need basic assistance with financial management. Topics
include terms and concepts of financial management,
budgeting, budget re-forecasting, cash flow, filing IRS Form
990, and securing an audit.
Wednesday, November 5:
Fund Raising 101:
This workshop
focuses on the basics of fund raising: how to set up an
effective development program; how to research prospects;
how to build an individual donor base; how to cultivate and
solicit donors effectively; risks and rewards of special
events.
Wednesday, November 19:
Capital Campaigns:
Are you ready for a capital campaign? This seminar will
examine your organization’s readiness for a capital
campaign. Topics include assembling a campaign team,
building the donor database, developing a clear, compelling
case for support, realistic assessment of how much money is
feasible to raise, setting campaign goals, and donor
recognition.
Wednesday, December 3:
Capacity Building:
This seminar is appropriate for organizations over 3 years
old that are experiencing some growing pains and need a plan
for expanding programs/services, building infrastructure,
developing human and/or financial resources to “move to the
next level” of organizational development. Includes
strategies for capacity building. |
